ESUT Cut off Mark For Admission

The Cut off mark for admission into the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) for this year’s academic session has been made public by the institution’s management. The ESUT Departmental Cut off marks for all courses are also included in this publication.

What is ESUT cut off Mark

The Enugu University of Science and Technology Cut off mark is the required minimum score a student seeking admission into the institution must attain before he can be adjudged qualified to participate in ESUT Post UTME screening.

However, it is noteworthy that there are two types of ESUT cut-off marks;

  1. ESUT general cut off mark, and
  2. ESUT departmental cut off marks.

ESUT General cut off mark

In an official statement released by the school, the management annunciates that the ESUT general cut off mark for admission into the institution for 2022/2023 session is 150 score in UTME. It is expected of candidates to garner the score or above to qualify for admission into the institution. Therefore, students who do not score up to 150 can not obtain Post UTME forms or be considered for admission into the institution.

ESUT Departmental cut off marks

These are cut-off marks released after the institution’s post-UTME screening has been completed. These include cut-off marks for:

  • Economics,
  • Law,
  • Medicine and Surgery,
  • Architecture,
  • Medical Laboratory Science,
  • Civil Engineering,
  • Mass Communication,
  • Estate Management,
  • Accounting,Computer Science,
  • Chemical Engineering,
  • Political Science, and other courses offered in the institution.

The requirements to study any course in the institution are minimum of 5 credits in senior secondary school certificate examinations in not more than 2 sittings and UTME score of 150 or above.

To study Medicine and Surgery, candidates must have scored 290 or above in JAMB. To secure admission into the Department of Architecture, candidates are required to score 260 or above.

As announced by the management, Cut-off marks for other departments are as follows;

  • Medical Laboratory – 270,
  • Civil Engineering – 260,
  • Mass communication – 260,
  • Estate Management – 250,
  • Accounting – 250,
  • Business Administration – 270,
  • Pharmacy – 280,
  • Computer Science – 260,
  • Law – 280,
  • Chemical Engineering – 280,
  • Political Science – 260,
  • Economics – 270.

Direct Entry candidates are required to obtained Direct Entry forms from JAMB and ESUT portals. Also,as a matter of necessity,a minimum of merit pass in National certificate of Education (NCE),National Diploma(ND) and other advanced level of certificates are requisites for admission through Direct entry into the University.

However,candidates who do not meet the required conditions for admission are not expected to apply for either the University Post UTME or Direct Entry as admission would strictly be based on Merit.
