Buhari Lists NYSC Allowance, Others As His Second-Term Achievements

The Presidency has released Buhari’s second-term achievements of which NYSC allowance is part of.

They listed 35 policies, programmes and projects including the NYSC allowance increment and the controversial Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAMA.

Also listed as Buhari’s achievement is the 774,000 Spacial Public Works (SPW). See how to apply for Spacial Public Works.

President Buhari’s second term achievements were shared by Presidency via Twitter handle, @NGRPresident, on Friday.

Buhari, on 7th August 2020 signed the Companies and Allied Matters Bill into law replaced the 1990 CAMA.

However, the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), had described the bill as satanic, demanding that the president should stop the implementation of “the obnoxious and ungodly law until the religious institutions are exempted from it.”

Also, the “Commencement of payment of increased Allowance (33,000 Naira monthly) to NYSC members” started from January 2020.

Meanwhile, Corps members have been demanding for the payment of their minimum wage arrears as promised by Presidency after the bill was signed into law in August, 2019.

The NYSC DG had clarified that fund to pay corps members arrears was not included in the budget for the scheme, explaining that only civil servants were paid minimum wage arrears. See how much Corps Members are expecting as their arrears.
