Domicile Letter for Married Female NYSC Members

It is no news that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has requested every married female Prospective Corps Member (PCM) who seek concessional deployment to provide their husbands’ domicile letters, along with other necessary documents. What is a Domicile Letter?

A domicile letter is an official certification of your residential address obtained from your Local Government Council. For married Corpers, NYSC mandates obtaining this letter from the Local Government where their husbands reside.

Recognizing the importance of keeping married couples together, NYSC encourages married female members to serve in the same area where their husbands reside through “Concessional deployment.”

So, to determine the exact location of their husbands, the management requires every married female Corper to produce their husbands’ domicile letters. The domicile letter serves as proof of the husband’s residential address and must be uploaded during online registration. This enables NYSC to post them to the exact location where their husbands reside.

How to Get a Domicile Letter for NYSC Concessional Deployment

Obtaining a domicile letter is straightforward. Visit the local government where your husband resides and request a domicile letter for him.

It’s advisable to go with your husband or have him obtain it, as there might be specific information required that you may not be aware of. Please note that requirements vary between local governments, so visit the local government where your husband resides to inquire about domicile letter requirements.

Tips for Married Corpers

1. Do not forge a Domicile letter – Verifying authenticity is easy for NYSC, and forgery could jeopardize concessional deployment opportunities.

2. Have your husband obtain the domicile letter for you or accompany him.

3. Get the domicile letter from where your husband currently resides.

4. Upload the Domicile letter during NYSC online registration and take the uploaded copy to the orientation camp.

5. If not deployed to where your husband resides, apply for redeployment on marital grounds at the NYSC orientation camp.

6. Provide accurate information or be consistent in your statements – Discrepancies in information supplied to NYSC can affect concessional deployment opportunities.

7. Check other required documents for married female Corpers.
