Many of his friends, confirmed the shocking and sad news in a post they shared on their Facebook pages.

His friend on Facebook, Ejeh Chris Owoicho, wrote

“I am speechless, someone should tell me it’s a dream, Godwin why can you depart like this without a word of goodbye? It’s difficult for me to say rest in peace..i know my guy didn’t prepare for this by now because i remember our last discussion when we met in the village and had a wonderful visitation. You finished NYSC on the 25th of July and died on the 11th August….you graduated with a first class after taking jamb for six times and still gain scholarship in two entities. My guy you didn’t deserve to end this way with all the bright future you work for,and the good plan you have which we discussed about last time we met..but I can’t question God😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭”.

Another of his friend, Ameh Comrade Godwin-Azikiwe, wrote

“Ogbee! This sounds unbelievable and heartbreaking. You made us proud by graduating with first class after writing UTME (JAMB) six times, today, you have been snatched by the cold hands of death in a mysterious way.

How do I explain this to those who celebrated your academic feat with me Just three weeks after your NYSC, you went the way of all mortals.

We spoke few days ago and you promised you were going to be fine. What happened? Is this the ‘fine’ you assured me?

This is sad. Simon Godwin Idoko, please tell my brother, Prince Ameh Jerry, that; this is what the world has been reduced to.

Tell him the fences he left behind have fallen and strangers now pull down our beards.

Tell him we now swim in tears and pains. Tell him our arms have broken and termites have destroyed our homes. What a wicked world.

Ogbe, goodnight.”
