When is the NYSC 2019 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 POP date?

The NYSC management is yet to release official circular regarding the date, but we can calculate it by ourselves.

Our calculation:

2019 Batch ‘B’ stream 1 orientation course commenced on Tuesday, 18th June, 2019.

NYSC program lasts for one year, therefore, 19B(1) will be completing their service year on 18th May, 2020.

This doesn’t mean that they must pass out on exactly 18th May, 2020. But it is definitely in the month of June. To be more precise, it is between 4th and 7th June, 2020.

Although, a source from NYSC headquarters told us that the POP date for 2019 Batch B Stream 1 is on 27th May 2020.

Below is the NYSC congratulatory message containing date 2019 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 orientation course commenced;

“Congratulations for a successful mobilization into the National Youth Service Corps, we wish to inform you that as 2019 Batch”B” stream 1 orientation course commences on Tuesday 18th June,2019, you are advised to print your call-up letters, read the instructions and adhere to them strictly.

”NYSC wishes you all journey mercies to your various orientation camps”.

Will there be POP for 2019 Batch ‘B’ considering COVID-19 outbreak in Nigeria?

Yes, since NYSC is not placed on hold; corps members are just on indefinite holiday. So, if Coronavirus is over by then, they will gather to observe their POP, but if there is still COVID-19 pandemic, they will pass out at their homes, and will be told when to come for their discharge certificates.

  1. Am 2019,batch B, stream 1 corp members. I travelled back home before the lock down and am to pass out on the 28th of may. Due to the lock down in Rivers State, I cannot travel back to my state of service, which is Anambra State.
please, how do I collect my NYSC certificate? please reply. Thanks

  2. Since after may they will receive no more allowance, dose that means they will add up their traveling allowance and pay them off in that the same month of may?

  5. won’t Nysc pay us arrears? On the day President Buhari signed the new minimum wage into law, he made it clear that anyone affected by the minimum wage will be paid from April.why is Nysc saying minimum wage for corps members was signed in January 2020? Does that mean Nysc have a different minimum wage law?
They claim corp members are on national service so they are not entitled to minimum wage, the corps members that were paid during president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration were they not on national service?
They (Nysc) did not make provision for arrears in the budget and they want to use that as a justification to deny us our right .we are aware that we are in level 7 or 8 in the federal civil service,so what are they (Nysc) saying? The DG is not doing enough to press for our arrears ,he keep saying no arrears for corps.where is his justification from the constitution or Nysc act? Simple logic will be that if corps members are not affected by the minimum wage then they will not be paid. Nysc should do the needful and pay us arrears.

  6. It is said that after May there will be no more allawee for 2019 batch B stream 1 and there is a lockdown no movement in some states how would the corps members survive without a palliative to support their stay in their various PPAs.

    • That’s the thing oh

If I may say they wañt to expose us to this virus, cos once we pop out schools will volleçt back their lodgesabd sonr of us will need to pay for extral rent again, feed and do the rest, howcare we going to do it hmmmm
Pls government should make provision for us oh…
Some of us are poßted very far from home and
