The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Director General, Brigadier Shuaibu Ibrahim has disclosed that the 3 out of the 9 Injured Katsina Corps Members have been discharged from the hospital, while the remaining 6 are recuperating.
The DG made this disclosure today, Tuesday 20th August 2019 while paying a condolence visit to Katsina State.
In his visit to the state, the Katsina State Government condoled with NYSC over the loss of the three Corps Members that died in the motor accident along the Katsina-Funtua road on Sunday, 18th August 2019.
The Deputy Governor of the State, Quantity Surveyor Mannir Yakubu said that the State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari has been monitoring the health condition of the accident victims.
The Deputy Governor added that the relationship between Katsina State Government and NYSC Scheme in the State is cordial and it will continue to improve.
‘We will improve the living conditions of staff and Corps Members. NYSC has been a strong unifying factor in the country’, the Deputy Governor said.
The Director-General, Brigadier Shuaibu Ibrahim in his remarks, thanked the State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari for his quick intervention in conveying victims of the accident to the hospital.
He appealed for stronger relationship with the NYSC Scheme in Katsina State.
The NYSC DG also visited the Government Science Secondary School, Batagarawa of the state, where the Prospective Corps Members, PCMs deployed to Katsina State were having their 2019 Batch B Stream 2 orientation exercise.
Borno State PCMs were also deployed to the same Orientation Camp with their Katsina counterparts, since NYSC Orientation Camp in Borno is temporarily suspended for use, because of the ongoing insurgency in the state.
During his visit, he monitored the registration process in the camp and also read the riot act to the PCMs against bringing any fake document to the Orientation Camp for registration adding that culprits would be prosecuted.
