The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, has announced on Thursday during the presidential media team’s weekly ministerial briefing that the Federal Government will provide 300,000 N-power exited beneficiaries with loan facilities from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) following Nexit vocational training.
She said:
“Yes, we have an exit strategy, which we partner with the Central Bank of Nigeria. And out of this 500,000, about 300,000 indicated interest to be put on an exit programme where you can be trained on different skills, skills of their choice and they will be given loans by the Central Bank of Nigeria, for them to start their businesses.”
We’ve come a long way. We are currently training those who have expressed an interest. And I’m confident that by the conclusion of this quarter, the CBN will grant these loans to these folks.
The ministry does not provide loans as a government entity. As a result, we must form partnerships with institutions that are capable of doing so.
Unfortunately, some of these folks did not save wisely, but for those who are serious about saving, the majority of them have done so.
Approximately 109,000 N-Power recipients have gone on to start their own businesses. They are now employers of labor, and we can give you with documentation of this.
This is a fantastic program, and many have benefited and are being supported as a result. We also have a plan for getting out. And we’re in the middle of it, and it’s a never-ending process.
