Apply for Korean Government Scholarship 2022

The Korean Government Scholarship 2022 welcomes 125 undergraduate/700 graduate international students from 156 countries to study in Korea for degree (undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral) and non-degree research programmes twice a year.

International students interested in pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees in Korean universities can apply for the Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP). The fellowship aims to give overseas students the chance to pursue advanced studies in Korean higher educational institutions, cultivate global leaders, and strengthen Korea-friendly networks around the world.

The Korean government welcomes applications from 125 international students from 67 countries to study in Korea for a bachelor’s degree. Any candidate must successfully complete the first screening process provided by the Korean Embassy in his or her place of origin in order to be selected as a GKS recipient.

 Requirements for Korean Government Scholarship 2022

Citizenship: Candidates and their parents must be citizens of a country other than Korea.

KGSP-U: KGSP-U: KGSP-U: KGSP-U: KGSP

For their studies in Korea, candidates must be physically and psychologically well.

Requirements for a Bachelor’s Degree: KGSP-U: KGSP-U is a high school diploma.

Grades: A cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 80 percent or above is required; or a CGPA of 2.64/ 4.0, 2.80/ 4.3, 2.91/ 4.5, or 3.23/ 5.0 is required.

Scholarships awarded: KGSP Undergraduate: Each year, approximately 170 grantees will be selected.

Below is the selection process for the Korean Government Scholarship 2022

1st Selection:

Applicants can submit their applications to either Korean embassies across the world or to Korean colleges. In the first round of selection, embassies and institutions choose the best individuals from among the applicants. The chosen individuals’ applications will thereafter be forwarded to NIIED.

2nd Selection

The successful candidates are chosen from those who passed the first round by the NIIED selection committee.

3rd Selection:

Universities will assess the applications of those who applied through Korean embassies for admission among the successful candidates who passed the 2nd round. Candidates that are accepted must attend at least one of the universities.

Duration:

  • 1 year of Korean language instruction Associate’s degree plus two years
  • 1 year of Korean language study followed by a four-year bachelor’s degree
