The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari will again make another nationwide broadcast on Monday as regards the coronavirus issues ravaging the country. This will be the fourth time that the president will be addressing the country since the pandemic ravaged the country.
This was disclosed by the national coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19, Aliyu Sani, when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
Aliyu said that the task force has been monitoring closely the obedience to the ease of lockdown guidelines.
He added that the president is to decide on whether or not the country should go ahead with the second phase of the easing of the lockdown.
He said: ‘’We have given our recommendations to the President and we will wait for his decision on the next phase of ease of lockdown tomorrow. We have been monitoring quite closely the obedience to the ease of lockdown guidelines.
‘’Whatever decision we take is in the best interest of Nigerians. We are trying to save lives and at the same time balance it up with the economy. No country on earth can afford a lockdown for a prolonged period of time. It will be dangerous to the economy.’’
