NYSC POP Date 2019 Batch A (Passing Out Parade)
This post is about the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Passing Out Parade (POP) date for 2019 Batch A.
NYSC POP date 2019 Batch A?
POP means Passing Out Parade. Therefore NYSC POP date is the official date set aside by the management of NYSC for winding out of service year for a particular Batch or Stream of Corps members.
On the day of POP, all the outgoing corps members are expected to converge at the NYSC POP venue.
If the POP is ‘low key’ it means the POP venue is at the NYSC local government office (LGI office).
But if POP is high key, the venue will be at the NYSC secretariat or zonal office as the case may be.
After the final parade, NYSC Discharge Certificate will be given to all the deserving corps members.
Qualifications For NYSC POP
To qualify for the NYSC POP for your batch, you need to satisfy the following requirements:
- You must present your NYSC ID Card;
- Must NOT have more than two “Absent” on your Monthy clearance status. Click here to check your clearance status.
- You must have served for a period of not less than one year.
NYSC will collect Corps members ID cards in exchange for NYSC Discharge Certificates. Therefore, all the outgoing Corps members are mandated by law to report to the designated NYSC POP venue with their NYSC ID card.
Once your NYSC Discharge Certificate is given to you and your ID card taken from you, right from that moment, you cease to be a Corps member.
After collecting your NYSC Discharge Certificate, you should not be in a hurry to laminate it. The reason is because many have lost their NYSC Discharge Certificates due to overheating in the lamination machine.
NOTE: There shall be not replacement for any lose Certificate. Don’t allow that moment of joy turn to sorrow.
But if you must laminate your NYSC Discharge Certificate, try to make at least one color photocopy before you put it into lamination machine. A color photo copy can serve as your replacement in case you lose the original.
Now, let’s go to the 2019 Batch A POP date.
NYSC 2019 Batch ‘A’ POP Date
There is not yet an official date for 2019 Batch A Passing out parade but we can calculate it using simple formula.
Remember that Batch A entered orientation camp on 27th March 2019, and spent 21 days. So, after orientation camp, they will spend additional 11 months. This will fall in February, 2020. Therefore, 2019 Batch A POP date is certainly in February 2020.
