The Npower scheme is an initiative of FG that has helped a lot of unemployed youths of the country, both graduates and non graduates. Its linkage to the FG is based on economic policies, social development, and reduction of unemployment rate.
The unemployment aspect has been minimized through the scheme by provision of large scale structure, vital skills acquisition, and general development in both public and private services. Each of the programme, has helped in stimulating the larger economy of the Federation.
During the flagging-off of the N-Creative programme (Northern zone) at Abuja, the minister of Humanitarian Affairs Hon. Sadiya F. disclosed the total number of beneficiaries to that have passed through the Npower scheme. She said five hundred and forty six thousand, four hundred and forty-nine (546,449) youths have benefited from the scheme right from the onset till date.
The permanent secretary to the ministry of humanitarian Affairs Mr. Bashir N. Alkali, who represented the minister on the flagged off day went on to say that the newly approved one thousand five hundred (1500) N-Creative participants from the Northern zone will increase the figure from five hundred and forty four thousand, nine hundred and forty-nine (544,949) beneficiaries to five hundred and forty six thousand, four hundred and forty-nine
(546,449) youths in total, that have benefited so far from the scheme.
Currently, some of the graduates are expecting the transition plans into Nexit program, and other schemes prepared solely for exited Npower volunteers.
N-Creative, which is a newly added programme of the Npower scheme, is design to bring about development to the young creative talented ones. It involves a three (3) months training, after which successful participants will be certified on either Script writing, Animation, Graphic Design, and Post-production.
In few months to come the figure will increase, as names for other zones will be released, likewise other programmes of the scheme.
