Under the direction of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) invites interested Nigerians to apply for its much anticipated training program in software development, the NITDA Developers Group, NDG.
The program, which aims to make Nigeria the hub for digital talent in Africa and the rest of the world, will be led by the National Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR), a part of NITDA situated in Wuye District, Abuja.
Both the NITDA Developers Group training program and the NITDA Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2021–2044) pillar of Emerging Technologies are in line with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) of the Federal Government.
The Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, has instructed NCAIR to execute the program within the Centre on a 24/7 operation schedule, including an internship program that will give Nigerian youngsters extensive training with the aim of generating software developers.
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDAHadiza )’s Umar (Mrs.), Head Corporate Affairs and External Relationship, revealed in a news release on Sunday that the NDG Training is separated into two batches (A&B).
“Batch A will run from Monday to Wednesday, Batch B will run from Thursday to Saturday, and Sunday will be independent study day, and Certificates will be issued to the students/trainees at the conclusion of the programme.
“Classes will be held six (6) days a week in 3 clusters (24 students each), with 12-hour sessions for independent study and working on exercises and projects between 8pm and 8am daily”, she said.
Eligibility requirements
- Nigerian youth who live in Abuja or have accommodations there, include NYSC Corps members, secondary school students, and undergraduates on vacation.
- Graduates and anyone else who wants to learn advanced digital skills
- The minimum age requirement for participants is fifteen.
- Please take note that the course will actually take place in ABUJA.
NITDA Internship Program Benefits
