WhatsApp customers who have been frustrated by the inconvenience of having numerous accounts may now rest easy, according to the platform’s new multi-device capability. The CEO of Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, Mark Zuckerberg, revealed that users can now log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones at the same time.
WhatsApp has had a multi-device functionality for a time, but it only enabled users to view their accounts from browsers, PCs, or Android tablets in addition to their primary phone. However, the new functionality allows users to log in to other phones as well, with a four-device restriction.
This feature, which WhatsApp characterizes as “One WhatsApp account, now across multiple phones,” is already being rolled out to users throughout the world and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks. The new functionality is especially handy for users who have multiple phones and wish to utilize the same WhatsApp account on all of them. It is particularly advantageous for small firms because numerous employees can send and receive messages on separate phones from the same business number.
Messages are synced across several phones for up to a year using the new capability. Even if a phone is turned off, users can access their messages on other phones because each phone connects separately. On every phone, all chats, media, and calls will be end-to-end encrypted. If a user’s primary smartphone is inactive for an extended length of time, WhatsApp will lock them out of any companion phones.
To use the new functionality, launch WhatsApp on your primary smartphone and tap on the app’s icon. Then, pick “Linked devices” from the overflow menu (represented by three dots). This will lead you to a settings page where you can see all of your associated devices. Tap the green “Link a device” button on this page. You will be asked to scan a QR code that will show on the screen of your other phone. When your secondary phone is scanned, it will begin synchronizing your messages.
WhatsApp for Android and WhatsApp for iOS both have the multi-device capability. Users may now connect up to four devices to the same account, making it easier to stay connected across all of their devices.
Thank for the information
