The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has released fresh updates regarding its medical screening for 2024 recruitment. Following the ongoing Muslim Ramadan fast and the Christian lenten period, the Commission has adjusted the schedule for the medical screening of candidates applying for recruitment into the constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the NPF, the screening will now begin on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, to allow religious obligations activities.
Specialist applicants who completed the physical and credentials screening but were not part of the JAMB-conducted computer-based tests will also undergo practical tests and medical screening during this period.
The venues for these exercises include the 17 Zonal Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as designated locations in Kaduna, Yobe, and Zamfara states. Special consideration has been given to these states due to the security challenges they face, allowing candidates from these areas to conduct their screenings and practical tests in their states of origin.
Furthermore, police colleges located in states hosting the Zonal Command Headquarters will serve as additional venues for the exercises. Shortlisted candidates will receive detailed information from the Police Recruitment Board regarding the specific locations and timing of their screenings.
Successful candidates from the medical screening phase will proceed to Police colleges for mandatory training. Dr. Solomon Arase, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and National Coordinator of the Recruitment Exercise, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the exercise, emphasizing the importance of injecting new personnel into the security apparatus to enhance national safety and stability.
Dr. Arase underscored the rigorous selection process aimed at identifying high-caliber individuals who possess the dedication and potential to contribute significantly to the nation’s security architecture. He lauded the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for its role in facilitating the computer-based tests, acknowledging the organization’s commitment to excellence and reliability.
As the recruitment exercise advances, Dr. Arase affirmed the commission’s commitment to ensuring thorough scrutiny and adherence to international standards. The goal is to bolster the security forces with capable and committed individuals capable of addressing the prevailing security challenges and safeguarding the nation’s interests.
