European Union 2023 ELbM Scholarships for African Students

African nationals are encouraged to apply for scholarships in the disciplines of mechanical engineering, materials and metallurgical engineering, biomaterials/biomedical engineering, and industrial & manufacturing engineering. There are a total of 22 scholarships available in this ELbM scholarship call, including 12 Masters scholarships (9 credit and 3 degree-seeking), 4 PhD scholarships (3 credit and 1 degree-seeking), and 6 Staff awards. Four (4) African partner institutions jointly manage the ELbM scholarships, which will allow chosen students and staff to pursue postgraduate study, research, teaching, or training.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be Africans
  • Applicants must have completed their undergraduate program
  • Applicants must be proficient in English Language

European Union Masters and PhD Scholarships Benefits

  • The ELbM scholarship covers round-trip airfare, visa charges, participation costs such tuition, registration, and service fees, insurance (health, accident, travel), a moving-in allowance, a monthly stipend, and a contribution to research expenses related to student mobility of at least 10 months.
