Suitably qualified Nigerian students are invited to apply for the Nigeria LNG Postgraduate Scholarship initiative to study in the United Kingdom for a master’s degree program.
The scholarship intends to develop a pool of high-potential Nigerian graduates and professionals who would have a competitive advantage in the job market.

This scheme began in October 2012, with 15 beneficiaries being accepted each year to study at top UK universities. The scholarship is worth USD67,500 per awardee each year of study. However, depending on the degree of study, the actual spend per awardee ranges from USD45,000 to USD67,500.
Environmental Studies, Engineering, Management, Accountancy, Economics, Information Technology, Geology, Banking, Law, and Medicine are among the subjects covered under the plan.
Criteria for Eligibility
- Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Nigeria LNG Postgraduate Scholarship 2022:
- Have provisional acceptance to one of the UK universities listed below to study Renewable Energy, Engineering, Geosciences, Environmental Sciences, Management Sciences, Information Technology, Law, or Medicine. University of Aberdeen and University of Cranfield are two universities in the United Kingdom.
- Have at least a second-class (upper-division) degree in a related field of study.
- Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
- A minimum IELTS score of 8.0 is required (with not less than 7.0 in all elements)
- At the time of application, you must not be older than 30 years old.
- Be a Nigerian citizen who intends to return to Nigeria after completing the specified program of study.
- Letters of identification from the respective Local Government Councils are required.
- Have an international passport that is valid for at least one year after September 2022.
- After being accepted, you will be able to apply for a Tier-4 student visa in the United Kingdom.
- If chosen, provide proof of availability to travel in September 2022.
- You must not be a Nigeria LNG Limited employee’s spouse, child, ward, or direct relative.

Then, under the “Related Links” section of the page, click on the “Post-Graduate Scholarship” application link to visit the application portal.
To create a profile and begin the application process, click “Register Here.” The following documents must be scanned and uploaded with all applications:
- Recent passport photograph without glasses (not more than three months old)
- International passport bio-data page
- First degree certificate
- NYSC discharge certificate
- Provisional admission letter from the indicated UK institutions above.

- Local Government Area letter of Identification
- Employer consent letter (where applicable)
