- Applicants must have a chest measurement of 0.87m (for male candidates), and 1.64m (for female candidates).
- Present a certificate of fitness, which must be issued by a government hospital.
- Free from all forms of disability(ies).
- Have no criminal record.
- Have a recognized, and approved State of Origin certificate.
- Not having record of financial embarrassment.
