Of the 1,761,338 students who took the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), only 378,639 obtained a score of 200 or higher, according to information released on Thursday by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, said this at the 2022 policy meeting.
Oloyede revealed that during the board’s 2022 UTME exams, an Ekiti native received the highest score.
Oloyede reported 378,639 applicants who passed the 2022 exam with a score of 200 or higher, 520,596 who achieved a score of 190 or higher, 704,991 who achieved a score of 180 or higher, 934,103 who achieved a score of 170 or higher, and 1,192,057 who achieved a score of 160 or higher.
Oloyede continued by pointing out that the board permitted applicants whose results were still pending to enrol for the 2022 UTME.
“JAMB allowed awaiting results candidates to register and sit for the 2022 UTME. These candidates can’t be considered for admission on awaiting result status. They must present their O’level results on the board’s portal before the commencement of admissions”.
