The Special Public Works (SPW), which is an initiative of FG to engage seven hundred and seventy four thousand (774,000) unemployed youths has gotten to the stage of stipends payment.
According to Hon. Festus Keyamo who is the Honourable minister of State, Labour, and Employment, those using Zenith Bank can attest to the fact that payments has received aside banks that are yet to comply with his orders to eliminate all trace of anomalies.
The Minister in his Official Twitter handle made it known that the second (2nd) tranche of payment can only commence after all participants of the program have being paid the first (1st) tranche. He went on to say the various banks aren’t the ones paying the participants, rather the payments is being made by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
In the history of Nigeria, the SPW programme is the only program that is being run within a short time frame, in the form of employment and not empowerment, yet yielded success. All States and L.G.A is being involved in the scheme which makes it more unique.
