The National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) is a program setup by FGN to assist parents in feeding public primary school pupils, so as to improve their educational status and health.
FG through the ministry of Humanitarian affairs has inaugurated a multi Sectoral Committee that will take charge of NHGSFP.
The inauguration took place in Abuja, at the National Army Resource Centre, where the Minister who was represented by Dr. Umar Bindir, the Chairman & Cordinator of NSIP pleaded with the committee to work in accordance with the set goal to create wealth, and eradicate poverty among Nigerians. In addition they were encourage to work collectively in order to build the program with a coercive force.
The major roles of the committee is as follows;
- Make recommendations about NHGSFP.

Give input that will promote activities of the NHGSFP.

Bring about cordial working terms among State Multi sectoral group and it’s counterparts on the Feeding program.
Ever since the introduction of the Feeding program, the population in public primary schools has increased drastically, bringing about the promotion of local economical activities.
Stakeholders of the various ministries that covers the core objectives of the program which are Education, Agriculture, Health, and Employment are to collectively work in a positive direction that can yield the implementation of its aim via the multi sectoral committee being setup.
