INEC ad hoc staff salary – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) usually engages the services of ad hoc employees for the conduct of free, fair and credible elections across Nigeria. In this post, we shall look at how much INEC pays ad hoc staff after conducting elections.
INEC Salary For Ad hoc Staff
According to the INEC chairman, ad hoc staff (mainly NYSC members) are entitled to N4,500 training allowance; N1,000 for transport and N500 for refreshment for the 3-day training period.
For deployment on election, the ad hoc staff are entitled to transport, feeding and an honorarium of N9,000 and N4,000, totaling N13,000.
For the conduct of the presidential election, N17,500 is expected to be paid separately to each ad hoc staff.
The INEC Chairman noted that since no training will be conducted for the second election, each ad hoc staff will be paid N13,000, making a total of N30,500.
Note: The above is the Standard INEC allowance for NYSC corps members who serve as ad hoc staff.
The INEC chairman also made clarifications on the welfare of the ad hoc staff.
He said;
“Let me make this clear, the corps members are among the most educated, most reliable and most patriotic and most readily available election duty ad hoc staff we have in the country, so we don’t joke with their welfare”.
The INEC boss noted that the commission is collaborating with NYSC for the provision of the welfare and security of the graduates. He said that mattresses, toiletries, water, light and security had been made available for the corps members at each Registration Area Centre on the eve of the Election day.
