The Gina Mata, Gina Al-Umma Programme launch will teach 200 young women in digital content creation as part of NITDA and World Bank’s commitment to creating the next generation of digitally literate adolescents.

What is Gina Al-umma, Fasaha Gina Mata?

A digital skills development program called Gina Mata, Gina Al-umma, or “Building Women, Empowering Communities,” aims to discover, prepare, and connect impoverished girls and young women with cutting-edge knowledge economy skills. The program intends to greatly increase girls’ and women’s economic participation in the digital sphere and integrate more women into the gig economy.

Eligibility Criteria for the Fasaha Gina Mata, Gina Al-umma pilot launch

  • Age: Must be between the ages of 18 and 40 years
  • Location: Persons chosen must be Abuja residents and in Abuja for the training.
  • Gender: Only Female Applicants will be accepted
  • Must have basic knowledge of the computer or the use of mobile smartphones.
  • Must be available to attend classes without interruption for the duration of the 2-day training.

How long will the programme run?

Young women will be integrated into the digital eco-system through the Gina Mata, Gina Al-umma “Building Women, Empowering Communities” pilot launch, which is a 2-day digital skills program. In order to make our participants more globally competitive, the program also includes an affirmative session that will give Right-based and lifelong learning workshops (Cyber/Online safety, Financial Literacy, and Communication Skills).

Key Dates:

a. Applications open: March 15th 2023

b. Applications close: March 19th 2023

c. Review of applications and selection of successful participants: March 16th — 20th 2023

d. Successful participants are informed: March 20th 2023

e. Training of the participants: March 21st 2023
