The bank was previously a microfinance bank, until it now transited to a commercial bank with license to operate, making it the newest bank in Nigeria.
The bank was officially launched on Friday, January 14, 2022. It promised to redefine the banking landscape in Nigeria and Africa by extension.
While introducing the bank to the public at the bank’s headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos, the Chairman of the bank and also the CEO of Loveworld Nation, Dr. Adeola Phillips, said that Parallex Bank would operate broadly with a competitive mindset, to disrupt the market and delight customers with very attractive offers. According to her, the goal is to empower the bank customers and to drive convenient and efficient commerce through the bank digital platforms.

Parallex Bank is owned by Christ Embassy Church, which is founded by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. The bank’s Managing Director is Olufemi Bakre, while the Chairman of the bank is Dr. Pastor Adeola Phillips.
The Bank pays its staff an average salary of N88,200 monthly. This data is collated by 10 employees working with the Bank. The roles include Direct Sales, Team Lead, Client Service Manager.
The Bank’s Chairman said, the Managing Director of Bank, Olufemi Bakre, is father to the former Big Brother Naija house mate, Tobi Bakre.
He noted that Parallex Bank is the first bank in Nigeria to migrate from a microfinance bank to a commercial bank. He is convinced that the bank will achieve more as the bank partners with customers to explore more business opportunities.
