Federal Government BEA Scholarships For 2021/2022

The federal government of Nigeria has announced the commencement of the 2021/2022 Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarships, and is inviting application for participation from interested and qualified Nigerians. The 2021/2022 session whose nomination process will be conducted via Computer-Based Test (CBT) was announced by the Education Minister, Mallam Adamu. Here, we will tell you all you need to know about this scholarship to enable you to prepare.

What are the countries involved in the Federal government BEA Scholarships Awards?

Below are the countries involved, based on academic level:

For Under Graduate Studies

• Russia, Morocco, Algeria, Serbia, Hungary, Egypt, Tunisia, Macedonia, Japan, Cuba, Romania.

For Post Graduate Studies

• Russia (if your first degree was obtained from a Russian university), Hungary, South Korea, Turkey, Mexico, Japan.

BEA Scholarship fields of studies

For Under Graduate Studies

Agriculture, Engineering, Geology, Mathematics, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Medicine, Architecture.

For Post Graduate Studies

All fields of studies are available for applicants under this category.

Requirements for Federal Government BEA Scholarship Awards

Under Graduate Studies

• Five (5) distinctions (As & Bs) in five subjects in WASSE/WAEC (May/June) including English language and Mathematics.

• Certificate not more than two years old (for Non-African countries) and 1year old for African countries.

• Candidates must be between 18 and 21 years.
Post Graduate Studies.

• First Class or Second Class Upper first degree

• Foreign awarded applicants must have had two years of work experience in Nigeria or post-qualification experience.

• Applicants must have completed the mandatory NYSC.

• Applicants must be 35 years for Masters and 40 years for PhD.

• Evidence of released by employer.

How to apply for Federal Government BEA scholarship Awards

If you are interested in the scholarship you can follow the steps below;

  • Visit the Federal Ministry of Education website www.education.gov.ng.
  • Click on “Federal Scholarship Board”,
  • Fill the application form with accurate information,
  • Print out your Examination Slip.

Further Information For Applicants

  1. You are advise to prepare to learn a mandatory foreign language for non-English speaking countries.

  2. For Japan, a background in Further Mathematics is important.

  3. Only WASSCE/WAEC certificate is acceptable for Bachelor applicants in Imamat, Quran teaching Professor and Imam Preacher Training for Islamic Religious Studies in Algeria.

  4. Candidates for Hungarian Scholarship can apply for two scholarship in order of choice.

  5. Russia applicants must have their first degree from a Russian university.

  6. All application processes are done online.

  7. Under Graduate scholarship studies is 8 years for other courses and 9 years for Medicine.

What are the documents to submit to the Federal Government if nominated?

• Original copies of academic certificates.

• Valid international passport data page.

• Medical report from a government hospital.

• National Identification Number (NIN).

• Police Clearance Certificate.
