About Grundtvig Polytechnic
The Grundtvig Polytechnic is a tertiary institution with a residential component. It is owned by the Grundtvig Movement of Nigeria (GMN), a non-profit NGO registered with the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Land (Perpetual Succession) Act Cap. 98. It is based on our traditional education as well as Bishop N.F.S. Grundtvig of Denmark’s Education for Life philosophy, after whom the school is named. Dr. Kachi E. Ozumba, the founder of the Grundtvig Movement of Nigeria (GMN), conceived the idea for The Grundtvig Polytechnic (1942-2011). The Polytechnic is part of a global network of Grundtvig-inspired educational institutions.
Following a thorough resource inspection by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Grundtvig Polytechnic got the Honourable Minister of Education’s permission on February 18th, 2019, which was transmitted in a formal letter by the NBTE’s Executive Secretary, Dr M. A. Kazaure. The Minister then presented the Operating License to Grundtvig Polytechnic at an event in Abuja on April 29, 2019.
