The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has approved free business names registration with Cooperation Affairs Commission (CAC) with 250,000 Medium, Small and Micro Entrepreneurs (MSME) to be registered free. Here we will show you how to apply for free business name registration with CAC.

How to Apply for Free Business Name Registration with CAC

You can now register your business names free of charge with the Corporate Affairs Commission. The exercise started from 19, October, 2020.

Free business name registration with CAC is part of government’s post Covid19 pandemc survival intervention to support micro and small businesses.

According to Buhari’s personal assistant on news and media, Bashir Ahmad, 6,600 business names will be registered free for 34 states of Nigeria.

Abuja will get 7,906, while Lagos will get 9,084 slots and Kano state is 8400.

How to apply for free business name registration with CAC

Below is how to apply for free business name and with Cooperate Affairs Commission;

  1. Visit the official CAC site at www.cac.gov.ng.

  2. From the CAC website, locate names of the Aggregators that government have appointed to receive applications from interested persons.

  3. Submit three (3) proposed names for your business.

  4. Two (2) copies of passport sized photographs will be needed.

  5. Valid means of Identification (National ID Card, Voters Card, Driving license or International passport).

  6. Phone number/email address.
