– NYSC Registration Mistakes and How to Correct it
In this article, I will show you how to correct any NYSC registration mistake during mobilization.
You can correct an error in any of the following:
- Date of Birth;
- Course of study;
Prospective Corps members usually have issues regarding correction of certain mistake such as the one listed above during mobilization.
1. Date of Birth
According to NYSC, information from the West African Examination Council (WAEC) is now being used to effect changes on the NYSC portal regarding Date of Birth.
Follow the steps below to correct Date of Birth on the NYSC online portal:
- Login to your dashboard at the NYSC portal using your registered email and Password.
Click on “Date of Birth” link button.
Enter the WAEC results check PIN you bought from Bank or from WAEC office,
Select WAEC Type, Year of exam and enter your Examination Number
Click on “Verify” button
2. Wrong course of study
Login to your dashboard at the NYSC portal using your registered email and Password.
Click on “Correction of Course of Study” link
Select the right “Course of Study”
3. Wrong Passports
You can easily change it if NYSC disapprove it, and ask you to upload another one.
But on the event that you just want to change, it would be a very bit difficult.
According to NYSC, Prospective Corps Members who have mistakenly uploaded wrong passport photographs during Online Registration are to send their Call-up Numbers, Names, written application for dropping of passport photograph to this email address; email@example.com.
Once, you do that, the wrong passport will be dropped and you will be enabled to upload another one.
4. Wrong thumbprint mistake
Follow the same procedures as described above for wrong passport.
PCM with wrong thumbprint and passport photographs can also contact the NYSC State Secretariat in any state he/she chooses before the commencement of the orientation exercise.
5. Wrong Name
You are to login to your dashboard, and then request for correction of spelling mistakes and/or rearrangement of names.
Note: Those who need addition or removal of names will have to go back to their Institutions of graduation, who will in turn formally communicate such request to the NYSC.
Addition or Removal of names will not be attended to until your Institution follow the lay-down procedure.
This is necessary to ensure that your Certificate of National Service does not bear a wrongly spelled name.
6. Error in gender (Sex) or state of origin
According to NYSC, you can lodge a complaint or apply for correction at the ICT unit when you get to the NYSC orientation camp.
