On Wednesday, the Lagos State Government announced that they have discharged thirty seven coronavirus patients after they tested negative twice.
This was disclosed through Twitter by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The governor revealed that twenty five patients were discharged from the isolation centre in Onikan, seven from Eti-Osa (LamdMark) isolation centre and five from Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.
He said: “It gives me great pleasure to tell you that today, 37 more #COVID19 patients have been discharged from our isolation facilities at Yaba, Onikan and Eti-Osa (LandMark) to reunite with the society. The discharged patients are 19 females and 18 males including 1 Indian.
“The patients, 5 from Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 25 from Onikan and 7 from Eti-Osa (LandMark) Isolation Centres were discharged today having fully recovered and tested negative to #COVID19 in two consecutive test readings.
“With this, the total number of cases successfully managed and discharged from our isolation facilities has risen to 358.
“What this indicates is that while our numbers of confirmed cases are rising, we are also maintaining a significant discharge rate of our active cases.
“While we are encouraged by this, I will like to remind residents that the #EaseOfLockdown is not an excuse for us to rush out. We must remain safe by following the advice of our health experts.
“Wash your hands, #MaskUpLagos and strictly observe the principle of physical distancing.
“Together we can break the chain of community transmission.
Let’s stay safe!”
