On Friday, the Lagos State Government announced that they have discharged additional four coronavirus patients after they tested negative twice.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Health in Lagos, Prof. Akin Abayomi at a news conference to give update on Coronavirus situation in Lagos at the Island Maternity Hospital on Lagos Island, Lagos.
“There were four patients released, three females and one male, one of the females was an eight-week-old baby.
“The baby is hail and hearty with her mother.” Abayomi said.
This now brings to 22, the total number of coronavirus patients so far discharged in Lagos State.
The state government had on Thursday discharged 11 Coronavirus patients, after having discharged seven people earlier.
Abayomi said that the government was trying to flatten the transmission rate by asking Lagosians to embrace social distancing.
He also said the state was currently tracing 2,450 contacts of infected patients.
The commissioner added that the coronavirus cases being handled in the state were mild except for two patients who had moderate to severe issues, but noted that their cases had not reached a point where they need ventilators.
At the time of filing this report, Nigeria has a total of 190 confirmed cases of the virus in the country, 24 persons have been discharged with two deaths.
