The Debt Management Office (DMO) of Nigeria has introduced a new retail investment program called the “Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) Savings Bond.”
This program aims to promote a savings culture among Nigerians and offers an opportunity for all citizens, regardless of income level, to contribute to the country’s development.
Additionally, the FGN Savings Bond provides attractive returns in the capital market. It is a secure investment backed by the full faith and credit of the Federal Government of Nigeria, with bondholders receiving quarterly coupon payments.
The Debt Management Office (DMO) is currently offering the FGN Savings Bond on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN).
Benefits of FGN Savings Bonds:

- Investors will receive a fixed coupon payment on a quarterly basis.
- The bond tenors will range from 2 to 3 years.
- The bonds will be issued monthly through an Offer for Subscription.
- The monthly offer will be open for 5 days from the date of announcement.
This bond has attractive interest rates, with a 2-year bond offering an annual interest rate of 12.464% and a 3-year bond offering an annual interest rate of 13.364%.

To participate, you only need a minimum subscription amount of N5,000, while the maximum amount allowed for subscription is N50 million.
- Units of Sale: The price per unit is N1,000, with a minimum subscription of N5,000 and subsequent multiples of N1,000.
- Maximum: The maximum subscription allowed is N50,000,000.
- Interest Payment: Interest is paid quarterly.
- Redemption: The bond is repaid in full on the maturity date.
