The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for school candidates.
The results were released on Tuesday, 10th October 2023.
What you need to check NECO result
First, you need the following information handy:
- Your Examination Number: This is the unique number given to you by the Examination body that identifies you as a candidate.
- Your Examination Year; This is the year in which you took the examination
- Your NECO Card PIN; This, you would have to buy to be able to check your result
- Your Examination Type; NECO as a body conducts different certificate examinations (e.g internal SSCE, external SSCE, and BECE), so you need to know the exam you sat.
Having had all of these in place, you are a few steps away from seeing your examination results. Please pay attention!
How to check NECO results online
Follow the guideline below to check your NECO result;
- Visit NECO result checker website at https://result.neco.gov.ng/
- Select your ‘EXAM YEAR’ and ‘EXAM TYPE’.
- Enter your 12-digit ‘TOKEN’.
- Enter your ‘EXAM REGISTRATIONN NUMBER’.
- Click on “CHECK RESULT” button,
Note: if you don’t have ‘TOKEN’, click on “PURCHASE TOKEN” button to buy the code.
However, you will need to Sign to your NECO dashboard with your E-mail/Phone number and Password or ‘Sign Up’ if you don’t have existing account.
Interestingly, it costs almost nothing to create a user profile on the NECO website. What you need is a functional and accessible email address to do this, so go ahead and create a user profile.
After doing this, you can log in with your email address and password (do not forget to save this) and return to the result checker portal.
There are several methods with which you can pay for the token, so it is left for you to choose which method is convenient.
You can choose to pay through the bank or make an online payment, either way, you would have to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code for the transaction.
To do this, visit www.remita.net and choose the biller you wish to pay which is National Examinations Council (NECO). As of the time of this writing, the cost of one NECO token is N500 (excluding Remita service charges).
After successfully purchasing the PIN, return to the result checker portal and click on the drop-down menu where you would find a ‘Check Result’ section.
You can choose to save your results as a PDF file and print later, or print directly if you have access to a printer.
