Nigeria Immigration and Civil Defence Corps to Recruit 1million Nigerian Youths

The government of Nigeria has said it is planning to recruit about one million Nigerian youths before 2021 into Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

This was disclosed by the Minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola. The Minister revealed that the Federal government is making arrangement to conduct aptitude test for over one million applicants.

Aregbesola said it would enable Nigerian youths be recruited into the vacant positions in the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps before 2021.

According to the Minister, recruitment into the agencies have provisions in the 2020 budget which cannot be excluded.

Recall the recruitment exercise was earlier postponed due to the outbreak of Covid19. He assured that arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the aptitude test is conducted for the applicants who applied for employment into the agencies.

The minister made this known during an interactive session on tuesday with members of the House of Representatives committee on interior.

Aregbesola told the committee that the ministry needed resources to address the challenges of maintaining internal security and citizenship integrity. He assured the committee that the recruitment exercise will take place before the end of the year 2020.
