New training dates for NPC enumerators and supervisors have been announced following the workshop for the Chairman and Members of the National Population Commission NPC on Census operations and processes in preparation for the 2023 Population and Housing Census held at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State to the 27th March 2023.
The National Population Commission (NPC) has changed the date it previously announced as the new date for training ad hoc employees for the 2023 Population and Housing Census from March 31 to April 25–30, 2023.
The State Level DQM and Specialized Workforce Refresher Training is scheduled for Monday, April 3, through Friday, April 6, 2023. Census Night is scheduled for May 2, 2023. Fieldwork will begin on May 3 and run through May 6, 2023.
The announcement was made at a workshop the NPC conducted in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on census operations and processes. The Chairman and Federal Commissioners of the NPC participated in the workshop, where important steps toward the success of the census were addressed.
The 2023 Population and Housing Census depends on the success of the workshop on census processes and operations, and it is anticipated that it will give the Chairman and the Federal Commissioners of NPC a thorough update on the state of the census operations in order to further facilitate effective oversight and coordination of the entire census process at all levels.
The census date was also decided upon by the commission, who set it for the first week of May. The participant emphasized the significance of choosing an appropriate date for the census while taking into account the religious events that typically take place in April.
