NYSC DG, Corpers welcome new Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Sunday Dare.
The Minister has charged officials of the Ministry and its parastatals to brace up for the attainment of the next level agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He gave this charge when he assumed duty at the Ministry shortly after taking Oath of Office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Addressing a gathering of officials including the Permanent Secretary, Mr Olusade Adesola, DG NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, CEOs of other parastatals under the ministry and Directors, the Minister, who said he was getting down to business immediately called for teamwork among the officials.
He noted that the Ministry had key roles to play in the attainment of the goals of the current administration.
Dare, who pointed out that one of the areas of focus under the economic agenda of Mr President is to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty said the place of Sports and Youth Development are central to the achievement of the agenda.
Expressing his determination to enhance sports development in the country, he stressed the need for stakeholders to think outside the box to address this and other areas of youth empowerment.
The Minister also spoke of his plan to strengthen inter-ministerial collaboration with a view to achieving the mandate of the ministry.
He thanked Mr President for giving him the opportunity to serve in the ministry.
Earlier in his remark, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Olusade Adesola congratulated the Minister on his appointment and noted that giving his pedigree, he would take the Ministry to higher pedestal.
He assured him of the support of all officials of the Ministry and its parastatals towards the success of his assignment.
