Police to start guarding Corpers Lodges in Anambra State

The Police to start guarding Corpers Lodges in Anambra State. The Anambra State Police Command has said its personnel will henceforth guard lodges where members of the National Youth Service Corps in the state are accommodated.

This was stated by the new Anambra State Commissioner of Police, John Abang, when the NYSC State Coordinator, Kehinde Aremu, paid him a visit in his office in Awka.

Abang assured the corps members of their security across the state.

The police CP requested the addresses of the corps members’ lodges in the state to enable the command patrol and secure them.

Abang said, “The security of corps members in the state forms part of the responsibility of my command.

“I assure you of adequate and maximum security and safety of corps members and their lodges across the state.”

The NYSC coordinator had earlier said the visit was to show appreciation to the police for the protection of the corps members during their orientation camping.

He appealed to the command to intensify patrol around the corps members’ lodges in the state.

On 10th July 2019, John Bassey Abang assumed office as the 28th Commissioner of Police in Anambra State Police Command.

He is a native of Ogoja in Cross River State, he was born on the 29th February, 1962 and holds a Bachelor Degree Bsc (HONS) in International Studies and Post Graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice Administration from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and UNILAG respectively.

He joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP on the 15th March, 1988.

Since then, he had occupied various positions in the Nigeria Police Force.
