Recap Of FMHDS Minister’s Last Week Activities

The minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Honorable Sadiya F. played a very active role in the previous week (Monday 25th of January to Sunday 31st of same month).

FMHDSStarting with Monday 25th, the minister was among the delegates sent by Federal Government (FG) to commiserate with Sokoto State Government, Sultan and indigenes of the State, concerning the Shagari Modern Market fire outbreak.

She went on to advise traders to always adhere to safety rules, in order to avoid such occurance in the future.

The next day being Tuesday, the minister serve as the co-chair person along side the Minister of Education in the inauguration of the 18-member Presidential Steering Committee on Alternate School Programme (ASP).

The Alternate School Programme (ASP) is a program designed to assist children that are out of school to get basic educational knowledge, and also relevant skills.

On Wednesday, She attended a Federal Executive Council meeting which was conducted online. The virtual meeting was strictly meant for her fellow colleagues of same cabinet level, where she emphasized on the FG Grant designed specially for poor women in the country. She said the program which was introduced in the year 2020, has been able to assist the poorest women in both rural and peri-urban region of Nigeria.

That same Wednesday, the permanent secretary of Humanitarian Affairs Bashir N.A represented her at the flag-off ceremony in Kaduna State where four thousand (4,000) vulnerable women were supported by the program.

The secretary also represented her at the flag-off ceremony in Lagos State, last week Friday being 29th of January 2021.

On Saturday 30th 2021, the minister was highly represented by the permanent secretary to flag-off same program at Ogun State. About three thousand five hundred (3,500) women were impacted with the sum of twenty thousand naira (N20,000) each, the deputy Governor of the state Noimat Salako O. was with him at Abeokuta during the ceremony.

On Sunday 31st of January, the very program (Grant for Rural women) took off in two states; Anambra and Enugu States. The permanent secretary was the one that represented the Hon. Minister in the flag-off ceremony for both States.

The Ministry has been involved in several programs, and the Minister Hon. Sadiya F. has being busy ensuring that things goes well for the general masses.
