On Friday, the Rivers State Government announced that they have discharged their second and last coronavirus patient after testing negative twice.
This was disclosed by the Governor of Rivers State, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.
He said: “The second case which was recorded and taken to the treatment centre has now tested negative and will be discharged this morning, thanks to God for his mercy.
“We did not want to record a case before we began our preparations, that was why were started by enlightening and preparing our people. We were the first state to lockdown our land, sea and air borders. We were victimized and targeted, but is what has limited our index cases.”
The discharged patient is a sixty-two year old man who returned from the United Kingdom on 21st March 2020.
