Simple Step-by-Step Way to Delete Gmail Personal Data

You agree to allow Google see and process some of the information that comes into your inbox when you use Gmail.

Whether you agree with that transaction or not is a personal choice, but knowing what Google has acquired is the first step in making that decision. And, if you want to, you can remove what it knows before switching to another email service.

How can you get rid of the data from your Gmail activity?

Below are processes to follow to successfully delete your gmail personal data

  1. Log in to your Google account via https://myactivity.google.com/myactivity.

  2. Select Delete activity by from the left-hand menu.

  3. Scroll down to Gmail in the All Products dropdown menu.

  4. The tool then asks you how much data you want to remove – a single day, the previous week or month, or a period range.

  5. Click Erase after selecting the date or date range for which you want to delete Gmail data.

  6. Confirm on the pop-up box, and you’ve now permanently removed that data, which Google will no longer be aware of.

You can even remove all of your Gmail data if you want to.

Aside from the deletion of individual days of Gmail data, Google also allows you to select to have data from all of its apps and services automatically deleted on a rolling three-month or 18-month basis in the future. You can’t change this setting for each app individually, but it does apply to Gmail. To have your activity deleted automatically, go tohttps://myaccount.google.com/activitycontrols and select Manage activity, then choose to delete automatically under the “Web & App Activity” item.

You may feel more in control of your data and how much Google knows about your behavior once you erase specific data and then establish ongoing deletion for your Google apps.
