SUIN: All You Need To Know and How You To Apply to Get Yours as a Nigerian Business

If you are a business that has not benefited from the many Federal Government Grants yet, then there can be only one reason for that – SUIN. What is SUIN, you might ask. Well, don’t worry because we will explain what SUIN is, and how the lack of it have impacted your previous, unsuccessful application for Federal Government Business Grants and how a continuing lack of it will affect your chances of getting a loan or grant from the government in the future.

Over the past twelve (12) months, the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has shown enormous commitment regarding financial supports for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria.

This, the government did, by making loan opportunities and grants available for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and the government agency in charge of this is called Small and medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

In 2020, the SMEDAN’s 5 million Naira loan application portal was opened for small business proprietors across Nigeria to allow them to apply and get a loan to support and grow their businesses.

Perhaps you do not know, to access this loan or grant, you must be registered and have the SMEDAN Unique Identification Number (SUIN). Now, you get it, right? But the question is, how will you get the SUIN number? Well, here is how you can register and get it:

The Registration Process

Note that the registration process was started to allow the management of SMEDAN to use the database in the future in offering funding, training, empowerment, and other facilities to Micro, Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.

  1. Visit www.smedanregister.ng/register

  2. Input the following information:

  • Business Name
  • Phone Number
  • Business Address
  • Business Type
  • Product or Services
  • CAC Registration Number
  • Business Value (by asset)
  • Number of Staff
  • Ownership Information
  1. Supply any other requested information to complete the process.

  2. After your information is verified, your SMEDAN Unique Identification Number (SUIN) will be sent to you.

Okay! That’s simply how to get SUIN. With it, you will be able to apply for government business loans and grants in Nigeria.
