Teach for Nigeria (TFN) is calling on Nigerians who are young professionals, and exceptional graduates from any recognized University to apply for the fellowship program.
According to the believe of TFN, the true and sustainable path to follow in improving the educational system for Nigerian children is by developing, and channelling the most capable young leaders to help kick against educational inequity which is a major problem.
TFN is fully committed in the quest of bringing to an end of educational inequity in the country. Despite the pandemic, there will be enrolment of leaders who can drive the movement towards achieving it’s desired set goal (excellence/educational equity).
We’re basically concerned about students who attend public schools, as their environment/communities are having increasing disadvantages which do prevent them from having standard education, thereby enlarging the gaps between the children from the highest class and that from the lowest class.
This is as a result of the fact that schooling is no longer the way it ought to be, as our schools now tend to be a place for other activities and not just learning. Some sees and used a school as a place for social mobility, a safe place from home with access to water and food.
This in most cases means that children who are out of school will have a compromised state of wellbeing due to isolation, have health challenges, and nutritional problems.
For this reason, TFN needs a continuous process of accommodating future leaders and already existing teachers with leadership qualities in various communities, to help accelerate educational stability in the country.
Fellows (Participants) are to work towards ambitious goals and set targets that will put the students in a better pathway of life. This will not only improve the skills of participants but give them first hand exposure to the various crisis experienced in the educational sector all over Nigeria. This will in turn deepened participants understanding to come up with a better solution.
