UBA National Essay Competition 2021

The UBA Foundation is now taking entries for its 2021 UBA Essay Competition from Nigerian Senior Secondary School students. The UBA Essay Competition has a deadline of November 12, 2021 for submissions.

The National Essay Competition (NEC) for senior secondary school students in Nigeria will begin in 2021, according to the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Foundation, the bank’s CSR arm. The National Essay Competition, now in its 11th year, provides a competitive forum for senior secondary school students in Nigeria to strengthen their intellectual and writing abilities. The winners will receive educational scholarships to attend any African university of their choice.

Below are the categories of prizes for the essay competition

1st prize win:

N3, 000,000 in education grant to any African University

2nd prize:

N2, 500,000 in education grant to any African University

3rd prize:

N2, 000,000 in education grant to any African University

Qualifications for the UBA Foundation Essay Competition

You must be a senior secondary school student.

A handwritten essay is required to be submitted (750 words MAX)

A passport photo must be sent.

A copy of a birth certificate, a national ID card, or a passport must be submitted.

UBA Foundation Essay Competition Interview Dates, Process, and Location

The competition’s entries will be judged by a distinguished team of judges comprised of professors from reputable Nigerian universities, who will select 12 essays for further evaluation.

The 12 finalists will then compete in the second round, writing a second superior essay from which the three best essays will be chosen as the overall winners from the 12 finalists.

The applicant must enter their contact information in its whole (Name, Age, School, Address of school, Telephone Number, Residential Address and Email Address).

Applicants must submit photocopies of their original birth certificates or the data page of their international passport.
