Why Nigerian Protesters Are Flying the Russian Flag

First, the Russian flag signifies justice, equity, and fairness, while the UK, US, and other Western countries’ flags signify monopoly, domination, and rulership.

Remember that it was these Western countries that traded us as slaves, colonized us, and forced their language, culture on us. Even today, they still use us as slaves. We beg to travel to their countries, and when we get there, we  work our ass off to send money back home. This is pure modernized slavery.

Russia never colonized us. China never colonized us. North Korea never colonized us. But UK, France, Germany and other Western countries did. And they are still colonizing us through “neocolonialism”.

So, this is why many protesters are waving Russian flags in states like Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, and Bauchi, calling Russian President for help.

These protesters said they want military takeover as they are unhappy with the government because of economic problems and the removal of fuel subsidies.

They believe Western countries like the USA and Britain are making things worse for Nigeria and prefer Russia’s style of leadership, similar to what is seen in Mali and Burkina Faso.

However, President Tinubu views the flying of Russian flag, as a treasonable offense and vowed to take stringent measures to address the situation.
