The 15-man Chinese medical team arrived Nigeria on 8th April 2020 and since then little has been heard about them.

The medical experts arrived Nigeria amidst criticisms from Nigerians on social media who feared they would import the coronavirus into the country.

The experts comprising of nurses, laboratory technicians and doctors, arrived with medical equipments worth up to $1.5 million.

Nigerians who kicked against the Federal Government’s decision to bring the Chinese doctors to Nigeria, said that the the country had enough doctors to tackle the ongoing pandemic.

The Nigerian Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire claimed that the medical experts came to Nigeria to assist in the fight against the dreaded virus that has claimed no fewer than the lives of 87 Nigerians according to a data published by NCDC early Monday morning.

As soon as the Chinese medical experts arrived Nigeria, they immediately began their compulsory 14-day isolation which ended on 22nd April 2020.

After Nigerians made their displeasure known, the Health Minister insisted that the experts would only be sharing their experience, since their country has almost won the battle against the pandemic.

On 28th April 2020, Ehanire announced that they’ve all tested negative to the dreaded virus, but since then, nothing has been heard about them including their whereabouts.
