AB InBev Beer Garage Africa Innovation Challenge 2021

As part of this endeavour, AB InBev has launched the Beer Garage Africa Innovation Challenge, a pan-African competition aimed at identifying high-tech, high-potential entrepreneurs and founders who are developing creative solutions across the continent. To do so, it has partnered with Business Réseau, an Indian-based global startup accelerator, which will administer the programme through its Hindsight Ventures Africa-focused vertical. Beer Garage is one of AB InBev’s global innovation centres with the goal of promoting innovation by fostering a strong ecosystem of stakeholders.

By tapping the vibrant Fintech, Africa, and APAC startup ecosystems, the team collaborates with business units to find creative solutions to their business problems. At Beer Garage, we believe that innovation is the key to developing a long-term business that improves the lives of people all around the world.

About

The international beverage and brewing firm Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV, or AB InBev, is headquartered in Leuven, Belgium. AB InBev has global functional management offices in New York City, as well as regional offices in So Paulo, London, St. Louis, Mexico City, Bremen, and Johannesburg.

The AB InBev Africa Innovation Challenge’s goal and benefits

A USD 5,000 award is up for grabs, and the cohort will be pitching for it. Furthermore, we truly hope that the worldwide demo day will entice venture capitalists to take a close look at the cohort, and that many of them will receive investment interest.

Qualification requirements for the AB InBev Africa Innovation Challenge

Across Africa, high-tech, high-potential entrepreneurs and founders are developing novel solutions.

A Global Venture Bootcamp, a three-week venture mentorship and leadership development programme led by successful entrepreneurs, industry leaders, domain experts, and investors, will be offered to ten firms.

The Venture Bootcamp will conclude with an international demo day, during which the cohort will pitch their ideas to a global audience of investors and corporations. Prior to demo day, pitch coaches will work with the cohort to ensure that each pitch is short and tells a compelling storey.

One African startup will be chosen at the demo day to receive US$5,000 in grant funding. Partners provide US$150,000 in technology credits to all selected startups.
