The Zamfara State Government is now taking applications for their Zamfara State Scholarship for students from appropriately qualified pupils. All students are eligible for this fully supported grant.
When Zamfara was formed from the former Sokoto State in 1996, the state scholarship board was constituted by law. The board’s major job is to award bursary stipend to qualifying state indigenes studying at various schools of higher learning both in the United States and overseas.
Zamfara State Scholarship Qualification Requirements
- All candidates for the Zamfara Scholarship must be genuine Zamfara State residents.
- Non-indigenous people are not eligible for Zamfara State Scholarships.
- All candidates who work for the government are ineligible for the Zamfara Scholarship.
- All candidates enrolled in sandwich courses are ineligible to receive the Zamfara State Scholarship.
- All spillover candidates will be evaluated only if the University grants an extension.
- All candidates must have received admission to a course from a recognized higher education institution, along with supporting documentation such as an Admission Letter.
- Private university/institution students are not eligible for Zamfara State Scholarship grants; only public school students are considered.
- After completing their Matriculation or IJMB courses, all Matriculation or IJMB candidates must apply for new scholarship applications for their Diploma or Degree programs.
Documents Required for Application
- Admission letter
- SSCE/GCE O’Level Certificate.
- Evidence of State of Origin / Local Government.
- School ID card, or National ID, or Driver’s Licence, or International passport.
Note: a candidate may be disqualified at any time if they are found to have provided the scholarship board with fake documents or wrong information.
The deadline for applications is May 22, 2022.
