The Goldman Sachs Africa Recruiting Programme is a multi-day interactive event for African students graduating in 2022 and 2023. The program is open to students of all majors and is aimed to give them hands-on experience in the financial sector.
“The Africa Recruiting Initiative helps Engineering recruit talent from Africa, generate global professional possibilities for qualified students, and broaden our diverse recruiting outreach,” said Lade, who coordinated the event as a vice president in Engineering Campus Recruiting. A final day of interview preparation, application coaching, and a technical assessment workshop was held for high-potential candidates.
“Whether or not I’m offered an internship, this program has been one of the most fantastic points of my life,” said Emmanuel, a final year engineering student at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. “I really liked the Goldman Sachs people I met and the hands-on support they gave us.”
The Goldman Sachs Africa Recruiting Initiative spanned the continent last year, with the Goldman Sachs group visiting Nairobi, Kenya for the first time, in addition to Lagos, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana, which had previously been visited. The initiative, which serves as both an instructional and recruiting visit, allows students to learn about Goldman Sachs’ culture and engineering careers. Last year, the team chose 164 kids to participate out of over 1,200 candidates.
