The National Examination Council (NECO) announced the Senior School Certificate Results for external students yesterday in Minna Niger state, held between November and December 2021.
Four supervisors, on the other hand, were fired for “poor supervision.”
Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the organization’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, who announced the results, said: “The blacklisted supervisors are one from Niger and Borno states, and the other two are from Delta state,” adding that the action was taken as part of steps to combat malpractices.
According to Wushishi, 45,821 of the 47,916 applicants who registered for the exam sat for English Language, with 36,116 of them receiving credit or above in the subject.
According to the Registrar, 29,342 applicants received 5 credit passes or higher in English and Mathematics, while 37,991 candidates received 5 credit passes or higher in any subject.
According to Wushishi, the number of candidates “Booked” for various sorts of malpractices has decreased, with 4,454 cases recorded in 2019 compared to 6,465 in 2020.
He revealed that efforts are being made to reposition the council for optimal performance, which will result in some restructuring activities such as the extension and upgrading of the council’s zonal and state offices, as well as staff transfers and deployment to other offices.
According to the registrar, the action is being taken to address issues of overcrowding in some offices as a result of a severe lack of office space and a staffing shortfall, as well as other issues.
