The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has declared the official start of train service between Lagos and Abeokuta-Ibadan. Mr. Jerry Oche, the Railway District Manager, made the statement in Lagos following President Muhammadu Buhari’s official inauguration of the rail line on Thursday, June 10, 2021.
The Lagos – Ibadan Train Service (LITS) offers a variety of completely air-conditioned train trips. These trains include locomotives and carriages that have recently been acquired. There are tickets available in Economy, Business, and First Class categories, so there is something for everyone.
Ticket Prices For Lagos – Ibadan Train
The Lagos – Ibadan train service comprises 3 trip zones:
- Lagos to Ibadan (Zone 1-2)
- Lagos to Abeokuta (Zone 1)
- Abeokuta to Ibadan (Zone 2)
Lagos- Ibadan
- 24 seater: N6,000
- 56 seater: N5,000
- 68 seater: N3,500
- 88 seater: N2,500
Lagos -Abeokuta
- 24 seater:N4,500
- 56 seater: N3,500
- 68 seater: N3,000
- 88 seater: N2,000
Abeokuta-Ibadan
- 24 seater: N2,000
- 56 seater: N1,500
- 68 seater: N1,000
- 88 seater: N600
Note that the 24-seater coaches are reserved for First Class passengers, while the 56- and 68-seater coaches are reserved for Business Class passengers, and the 88-seater coaches are reserved for Economy Class passengers.
