FG Launches Visa, Passport Centre In Cairo

Nigeria has launched a new office in Cairo, Egypt to offer services for passports, bank verification numbers (BVN), national identity numbers (NIN), and visa applications.

This was stated in a statement released on Monday in Abuja by Abdul-Razaq Musa, the executive assistant to the president on the Nigeria-Egypt cultural and socioeconomic forum.

The facility was inaugurated as a part of the Nigeria-Egypt Trade Conference and Exhibition (NETCE), which is now taking place in Egypt. It will come to an end today.

Mr. Musa claims that the center will make administrative procedures for passport and visa applications, BVN and NIN enrollment services, and Nigerians living in Egypt and the surrounding Arab nations who seek to visit Nigeria easier.

According to the presidential aide, Nura Rimi, the ambassador of Nigeria to Egypt, and Umar El-Yakub, the minister of state for works and housing and a senator in the Egyptian senate, opened the office complex on Sunday.

The Nigeria-Egypt Cultural and Socio-Economic Forum (NECSEF), which offers services to Nigerians in the diaspora and foreign missions, has a new building that acts as its secretariat at 51 Michel Bakom Street Dokki, Cairo.

The center was established in cooperation with Online Integrated Solutions, a Nigerian business (OIS).

OIS’s owner and head of NECSEF, Mahmood Ahmadu, referred to the structure as a key symbol for advancing trade between Egypt and Nigeria.

“Our services also include the provision of biometric visa administrative services, financial services, bank verification number, account opening services (for Nigerian banks), national ID biometric capture and medical tourism,” Mr Ahmadu said.
