Nigerians have been urged by the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN to disregard a phony recruitment portal that posts false job openings with the CBN.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) asserts that it has become aware of a phony recruiting portal that asks “eligible” members of the public to submit applications for a process that would shortly get underway.
The phony website states qualifying requirements that, among other things, mention having a Bank Verification Number (BVN).
The application portal continues to suggest that applicants with physical limitations are ineligible.
To be clear, the CBN is not currently conducting any general recruiting drives and will never ask prospective applicants for their BVNs or discriminate against those who have physical limitations.
As a result, the general public is warned to be on the lookout for dishonest recruiting brokers, determined to take advantage of the employment problem to scam qualified applicants, particularly recent graduates.
